LSC-Kingwood students sing with Sarah Brightman, Crosby receives a Chick-Fil-A

Top singers from LSC-Kingwood’s music department recently served as the backup choir for international star Sarach Brightman’s recent tour, “A Christmas Symphony,” at the Smart Financial Center in Sugar Land.

This is not the first time that musicians have experienced the joy of performing with renowned international stars. Students played with Brightman three years ago, following a stellar performance with Josh Groban in 2015 with the eclectic vocals of Kingwood (Evōk).

“His musical director liked our sound and professionalism from the last performance and so booked us back,” said Dr. Todd Miller, director of visual and performing arts, choir organizer and singer. “I am happy to offer this experience to our most advanced singers.”

Brightman is the original Christine in “Phantom of the Opera.” She is an international singer, has sold millions of recordings worldwide and recently had a special on PBS on American television.

The LSC-Kingwood Music Department will soon be hosting auditions for singers and instrumentalists in the fall of 2022. To schedule an audition or advice, email [email protected] For more information on the department, visit www.lonestar.edu/kingwood-music-department.htm.
