Music reality show ‘The Voice Africa’ debuts in 14 African countries

Building on the success of The Voice Nigeria, the executive producers of seasons three and four, FAME Studios Africa, have partnered with Airtel Africa to roll out the first season of “The Voice Africa” across 14 Airtel African countries.

The 14 countries are Chad, DRC, Gabon, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, Congo, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

The Voice Africa’ will begin with a call for virtual auditions on October 19, followed by live auditions later this year. The show will air in March 2023, with the grand finale later in the year.

It will air on Airtel TV, Free Air (FTA) stations and pay channels in 14 countries.

During the launch on Wednesday at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, Segun Ogunsanya, Managing Director of Airtel Africa, said “The Voice Africa” ​​was the company’s latest initiative designed to support the world’s most valuable asset. continent, young Africans.

Mr. Ogunsanya, represented by Emeka Oparah, Vice President, Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility, Airtel Africa, said The Voice is the premier competition format music and entertainment show in the world.

He said the brand facilitates the emergence of successful musicians who can compete with their peers from anywhere in the world.

“As a continent with the youngest population in the world, harnessing their creativity, talent and energy could be transformative for Africa.

“Through The Voice Africa, Airtel Africa provides a platform for African youth to showcase their talent and perform at their best,” he said.

He said the show airs in over 180 countries.

“It should attract and showcase Africa’s brightest musical talent alongside a panel of high profile coaches and TV hosts and act as a launch pad for global recognition.

“Seven participants from each of the 14 countries will be selected to take part in the programme, with one of them eventually being crowned The Voice Africa,” he said.
